This tour has been designed to give a full insight into the culture of Tibet and its amazing landscapes. The tour starts from the great historical area, Tsedang, the capital of Shannan (Lokha) which is regarded as the cradle of Tibetan civilization in that Gongpori caves above the town are said to be the place from where Tibetan race originated. Visiting first palace of Tibet, the Yambulakhang Palace and the historically rich Samy Monastery we goes down to the spiritually and culturally rich city Lhasa where we visit most holy Jokhang Temple, renowned eight wonder Potala Palace, Norbulingka, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and more. After then passing through medieval villages, visiting unique Drayerpa Cave, oldest Ganden Monastery, sacred Drigung Tel Monastery, high status Reting Monastery, crossing through several passes, rivers and beautiful landscapes, finally reach in most beautiful, largest, crystal clear and highest saltwater lake of Tibet, the Namtso Lake. Travelers are surely lost in her beauty. After exploring the beauty of Namtso Lake, we conclude the trip driving back to Lhasa relaxing and refreshing in Yabachen Hot Spring en-route.
Arrive at Lhasa either from Kathmandu, Nepal or from the mainland China. While flying from Kathmandu, enjoy the amazing views of the Himalaya, including Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and the Tibetan valleys. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport or train station, meet our Tibetan guide who will escort to Tsedang (2 hrs). Check into the hotel. Take it easy today to acclimatize to the high altitude.
After breakfast, visit Changzu Temple also called the Pearl Monastery and then the palace of Yambulakhang which was built in second century BC by the first Tibetan king Nyatri Tsenpo who is believed to have descended from heaven and. Next visit Chedruk Temple to round off our visit to Tsedang. Afternoon, drive to Samye Monastery which is the first temple to be built in Tibet and the first complete with the three Buddhist jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Overnight in Samye.
After breakfast easy and short drive to Lhasa, en-route visit the famous Mindrolin Monastery which covers a large area of over 100,000 square meters (approx. 119,599 square yards). It is one of the six most famous Tibetan Buddhism monasteries of the Nyingmapa Sect. The monastery was originally built in the late 10th century and has been renovated several times. Overnight in Lhasa.
After breakfast, have an easy visit to Sera Monastery- the second largest Gelugpa university monasteries in Tibet, is the well preserved monastery of white-washed walls and golden roofs. After then visit Norbulingka- the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Finally, visit Jokhang Monastery and Barkhor Market- Jokhang Monastery is the most revered and sacred shrine in all of Tibet and is constantly bustling with devotees. Barkhor Market is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Monastery and is a good place to purchase souvenirs.
Today tour begins with a visit to Potala Palace- the highest palace in the world and is Lhasa’s cardinal landmark which offers an awesome view of the entire city. It is the ideal example of architectural work and is mostly renowned as a residence of the Dalai Lama lineages. Later visit Drepung Monastery- the largest monastery among the great three Gelugpa university monasteries which was used to be the residence of the Dalai Lamas until the Great Fifth Dalai Lama constructed the Potala Palace.
After breakfast drive to Mozugongar County via Drayerpa Cave to visit local Lama in caves. Drayerpa Cave is 35 km far from Lhasa city and there are more than 30 caves for silence thinker lama for religious. It takes 1.5 hours to visit some of them. After reaching Mozugongar County visit the Gandan Monastery- one of the great three Gelugpa university monasteries and oldest monastery among the six Gelug Sect’s monasteries. After having lunch drive to Drigung Tel Monastery is a small monastery famous for performing sky burials. Continue the drive to Terdrom hot-spring (75 Kms, off road) for the overnight stay in Basic guesthouse.
After breakfast drive towards Damxung County via Reting Monastery. It is the special temple for high Lamas like as Dalai lama`s teacher. After visiting monastery continue the drive towards Dangxung County, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, where can see the north Tibet Grass view. Overnight in Guesthouse.
After breakfast drive to Namtso Lake. Namtso Lake is the highest altitude saltwater lake in the world and the largest lake in the Tibet. It is situated 4,718 meters above sea level covering an area of 1,920 square kilometers. Some 60 kilometers to the northwest of Damxung County seat, it is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and receives high respects among the local people. In the Tibetan year of sheep, pilgrims from faraway come here to walk around the lake. It takes more than 10 days to circle the lake once. Afternoon, walk around Lakeside area and this is one of the highest & more beautiful Lake in Tibet. Overnight in Guesthouse.
Morning, explore the Lakeside. After breakfast drive back to Lhasa visiting the famous Yabachen hot spring and can take a shower and relax. Across North Tibet Grass, Great Nianchentangula Snowing Mt, lunch at Yangbachen small town, afternoon back to Lhasa city. Overnight in Lhasa.
Today is the departure day from Lhasa. After breakfast, free till departure time. Transfer to the airport for onward journey.
